These limited edition supply kits are available to help get you started painting with the recipes found in my Faux Raku Tutorial. Each kit has a random selection of specially curated paintable blanks on which to practice the Faux Raku Technique. These practice painting pieces are made from air dry clay, plaster and polymer clay.
Each kit contains;
(4) four polymer clay faces
(6) raw unfinished blanks made from air dry clay and plaster.
The polymer clay faces have a dusting of Pearl Ex powders on them from when I made them a few years ago. Some of the face cabochons have holes, others do not. Before painting on them, you might want to gently sand the surface to give it “tooth” to help the paint adhere. Your 4 polymer faces have been chosen from the collection shown.
The majority of the clay pieces are made from air dry clay, with some of them being made from plaster. These are unfinished, imperfect clay blanks, which you may choose to sand to smooth the rough surfaces. These blank kits will be chosen at random from those shown and may include castings of statuary heads, botanical motifs, birds, moths and/or butterflies, hands, Rococo frames, sea life, fossils, antique button motifs, animal and reptile designs or other miscellaneous designs as shown.
I have already packaged the kits in groupings of 4 polymer faces and 6 unfinished clay or plaster blanks as shown in the last photo. Please let me choose one package from each grouping for your kit. I have tried to mix the kits up equitably, with a nice variety of blanks in each.
While the actual kits you receive will be chosen at random, I tried to ensure as I was selecting the separate collections, that each kit has a nice variety of polymer faces and blanks chosen from those shown in the representative photos. I randomly picked two polymer face sets and two clay blanks sets for the photos showing what a kit may look like. These are not the actual kits you will receive but are representative of what you might receive. All kits are made up of the items shown.
I hope you’ll enjoy practicing the Faux Raku
painting recipes with these blanks. They are of course, suitable for many other painting techniques you might want to try with them.
There are only have a limited number of of these available.
I respectfully ask that you do not make molds from these castings or reproduce these specific designs.
The Faux Raku Tutorial is not included in this supply kit listing. The kit of 4 polymer and 6 clay or plaster painting blanks are included in this listing.
